| 备注 |
J. Frerichs & Co. was a shipyard on the Weser, and like hundreds of German industrial firms in late 1914, it issued its own emergency small-change notes — Notgeld — when metal coinage disappeared almost overnight into hoarding and wartime metal requisitions. These early 1914 issues predate the more systematic municipal Notgeld programs; they were essentially payroll instruments, circulating among workers and local merchants who had no other way to make change.
The shipyard's notes rarely traveled far from Einswarden.
