Obverse description Central field displays the crowned royal cypher of King Frederik III within a beaded circle. The royal motto is inscribed in Latin along the outer rim, divided into two segments by the mintmark positioned at the lower portion of the design. The crowned monogram is rendered with fine detail typical of Danish milled coinage of the mid-17th century.

Reverse description A large crowned pointed shield bearing the quartered arms of Denmark is superimposed over a short-armed cross, with both elements partially contained within a beaded circle. The denomination and issuer name appear as a legend in Latin letters outside the beaded circle, reading clockwise from the upper right. The date is placed at the end of the legend. The heraldic shield and cross composition is characteristic of Danish 2 Mark coinage of the late 17th century.
