Obverse description Crowned double cypher of King Christian V (two interlaced Cs in mirror image) set within a laurel wreath. The royal crown surmounts the monogram at the top. The Glückstadt mintmark appears below the wreath's tie knot at the base. The field is otherwise plain, with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description Crowned ornate oval shield bearing the arms of Denmark — three blue lions passant on gold with nine red hearts — superimposed on a cross patée. Suspended from the lower portion of the shield is the badge and chain of the Order of the Elephant, which also serves to divide the date at either side. The denomination legend is arranged in two parts along the rim at left and right of the shield.
