| Obverse description | Central field features the ornately elaborated royal cypher of Christian V (C5) beneath a royal crown, executed in baroque style with decorative foliate tips, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The monogram is rendered with pronounced baroque ornamentation characteristic of the late 17th-century Danish royal style. Surrounding the beaded circle, the king's personal motto is inscribed as a continuous legend readable counter-clockwise from the upper left. The overall composition reflects the high baroque artistic sensibility of the Danish court under Christian V. |
