| 表面の説明 | The obverse is printed in black on cream paper in an offset letterpress style typical of German Notgeld of the early 1920s. A bold silhouette vignette of a grazing donkey fills the central field, set against a sparse landscape with stylized foliage. The denomination '2' appears in an ornamental panel at lower left, balanced by a large 'M' cipher at lower right, with a four-line verse in Paderborn dialect occupying the central lower register; the outer border carries the full text of the payment order, issue date of 10 November 1921, and validity clause. |

Paderborn's Stadtsparkasse was one of hundreds of German municipal savings institutions that stepped into the currency vacuum left by the postwar coin shortage. The Gebrüder Parcus firm in Munich was among the more accomplished Notgeld printers of the period — their output for Westphalian issuers tended toward finer chromolithographic work than the cruder letterpress notes churned out by local job printers.
P. Michels as a named designer is a small distinction; most Notgeld commissions went uncredited.
