| Obverse description | The central panel, framed by an orange and grey guilloche border, carries the denomination '2 MARK' in bold lettering beneath the issuer inscription 'NOTGELD DER GEMEINDE LECK', with a validity notice stating the note becomes invalid one month after announcement in the Lecker Anzeiger. Flanking the central cartouche are two diamond-shaped vignettes: a bull's head to the left and a horse's head to the right, rendered in fine line engraving against the crosshatched underprint. Leck is a small market town in Schleswig, historically contested territory that passed between Denmark and Germany multiple times — it became definitively German only after the 1920 plebiscite.
