Beschrijving voorzijde Orange and black letterpress design on a cream ground, framed by a double-rule border. The municipal coat of arms of Goslar — a black eagle on a golden shield — occupies the centre, flanked on either side by large red numeral '2' denomination figures in bold Gothic style, with the word 'Mark' repeated in black Fraktur script beneath each. Below the arms, three lines of text in small Gothic lettering state the redemption and validity conditions, followed by a final two-line italic inscription naming the date of issue as 2 July 1922 and the issuing authority. Designer and printer credits appear in small capitals along the lower margin.

Opmerkingen

Goslar's municipal administration issued this note during the acute small-change shortage that gripped Germany in 1922, as hyperinflation outpaced the Reichsbank's ability to supply denominations below 100 Mark. Cities, towns, merchants, and even private companies issued their own Notgeld to keep local commerce moving — Goslar was simply one of hundreds doing so simultaneously.

Lattmann was a local Goslar printer with an established commercial reputation, which made municipal contracts like this a natural fit. Rudolf Fricke's involvement as designer is worth noting; Fricke was a regional artist whose work appears across several Lower Saxony Notgeld issues from this period, giving the series a degree of craft that purely functional emergency currency often lacked.
