| Obverse description | The central vignette bears the heraldic eagle of the Grafschaft Neuenahr set within a dotted shield, flanked on either side by rectangular guilloche panels with radiating line underprint. Circular denomination cartouches at left and right each read '2 Mark' in bold red Gothic script within a beaded border. The upper margin carries the issuer's title 'Bad Neuenahr' in large Gothic lettering with 'A.-G.' and 'Bank-Abt.' to the flanks; the lower margin contains the payment text, validity date of 31 December 1922, place and date of issue 'Neuenahr, 1. März 1922', series and check number, and the engraver's credit 'A. Pfeister fec.' alongside a manuscript signature of the Kurdirektion. |
