| Vorderseitenbeschreibung | A polychrome lithographed vignette in a medievalising style occupies the centre, portraying an outdoor scene with robed and armoured figures to the left, mounted riders at centre, and a herald bearing a shield to the right, all set against a wooded landscape in warm ochre tones. The upper border carries the issuer name in bold Gothic blackletter script, while the lower margin presents the denomination numeral '2' at left, a central cartouche with the place name and issue date, and the validity clause at right, the whole enclosed within ornate interlaced Gothic border decoration. A manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorsteher appears beneath the date within the lower cartouche. |

| Rückseitenbeschreibung | A central oval vignette in polychrome lithography presents a landscape view of a Hünengrab (megalithic grave mound) amid rolling fields and dark trees under a dramatic sky with red-tinged clouds, captioned 'Hünengrab' within the oval. The denomination numeral '2' in red and a stylised red 'M' monogram each appear within gold geometric cartouches at upper and lower centre respectively, while a verse text in Gothic blackletter script runs along all four borders, with repeating gold scroll ornaments at the corners. |

Groß Flottbek was an independent municipality on Hamburg's western edge, and this 2 Mark Notgeld was issued in 1921 as small-change shortages persisted well into the postwar years despite the nominal return of peacetime conditions. Langebartels & Jürgens in Altona handled a considerable volume of regional Notgeld for Hamburg-area municipalities during this period — a practical choice given the firm's proximity and capacity.
Groß Flottbek was absorbed into Hamburg in 1927, ending its brief history as a separate issuing authority.
