Additional information

Louis Rudolph ruled Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel from 1731 until his death in 1735, a reign short enough that his coinage issues are comparatively limited across all denominations. The Mariengroschen — named for the Virgin Mary, a unit deeply embedded in Lower Saxon monetary tradition since the late medieval period — persisted well into the eighteenth century as small change across the Brunswick territories despite broader monetary reforms elsewhere in the Empire.

Welter 2480 is the standard attribution for this type, with no widely documented die varieties distinguishing the run across these four years.
