Obverse description Central field bears a three-line inscription reading 'II / MARIEN / GROSCH' above 'FEIN SILB' and the mintmaster initials 'I.A.B.', all within a circular legend. The peripheral legend reads 'D.G.LVDOVIC.RVD.DVX.BR.&L.' with the date '1734' to the left, identifying the issuing ruler as Duke Louis Rudolph of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The lettering is rendered in Roman capitals throughout, typical of early eighteenth-century German silver coinage.
