Obverse description Central field features a raised circular cartouche bearing the denomination inscription in four lines: II / MARIEN / GROS: / FEINS, with two small rosette ornaments flanking the numeral II at the top, and the mintmaster initials H.C.B. at the base. The surrounding peripheral legend reads GEORG LUDD. D. G. D. B. & L. S. R. I. A. T. & E., identifying the ruler as Georg Ludwig (George I), Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The coin is struck with a milled border visible at the rim.
