Obverse description Crowned and mantled coat of arms of Waldeck-Pyrmont, divided per pale: the dexter side bearing a star of eight points (representing Waldeck) and the sinister side displaying a cross potent (representing Pyrmont). The shield is supported by elaborate ermine-lined mantling draped symmetrically to either side, surmounted by a princely coronet with arching bands. The overall composition is rendered in a neoclassical heraldic style typical of early nineteenth-century German states.
