Obverse description Central field bears the denomination inscription arranged in four lines: 'II / MARIEN / GROSCH: / F. SILB' with the mint mark 'C.' below, all within a beaded inner circle. The peripheral legend 'CAROLVS.GVILIELM.FERDINAND.' arcs around the upper portion of the coin, with the date '1786' appearing in the lower left of the legend. The overall design is typographic in character, with no figural elements on this face.

Reverse description A standing full-length figure, identified as the Wild Man of Brunswick (the Wildemann), occupies the central field. The figure is depicted facing forward, crowned with a wreath, holding a uprooted fir tree over his right shoulder as a staff, with his left hand on his hip, and standing on a ground line. The numeral '2' appears to the left of the figure in the field. The encircling legend 'D.G.DVX.BRVNSVIC.ET.LVNEBVRG.' runs along the periphery, separated by stops, within a milled border.
