Obverse description Draped bust of Philip IV facing right, rendered in low relief within the coin's field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, naming the monarch by royal title. The portrait, characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century Spanish copper coinage, is stylized and somewhat crudely struck due to the roller-milling technique employed. The overall design is compact, with the bust occupying the majority of the flan.
