| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of Sun Yat-sen occupying the central field, rendered in moderate relief. Chinese characters appear to the left and right of the effigy, reading the Republic of China date in the traditional format. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative border of repeating Greek key (meander) pattern, giving the piece a distinctly classical framing. The field is smooth and largely unadorned aside from the portrait and flanking inscriptions. |
