| Beschrijving keerzijde | A sinuous Chinese imperial dragon is depicted at centre, shown in profile amid clouds and confronting a flaming pearl. Above the dragon, Chinese ideograms reading 造年緒光 (Made in the reign of Guangxu) are arranged in a horizontal arc. Below the dragon, an English legend in Latin characters identifies the coin as a silver issue of the Great Qing Empire, conforming to the bilingual format adopted during the late Qing monetary reform period. The dragon is rendered in the highly detailed, engraved style typical of pattern coinage produced under Western technical influence at the turn of the twentieth century. |
