| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of King Vittorio Emanuele III, rendered in high relief with finely detailed facial features and a bare head. The truncation of the neck is clean and falls near the lower field. The legend encircles the portrait along the upper and lateral periphery, reading VITT·EM·III·RE·E·IMP·, abbreviated for Vittorio Emanuele III Re e Imperatore (King and Emperor of Italy). Immediately below the neck truncation, the engraver's signature G. ROMAGNOLI appears in small incuse letters within the lower field. |

The date appears to the left of the denomination and the mint mark R (Rome) together with the regnal year in Fascist Era numerals appears to the right.
