| Obverse description | A finely detailed honey bee rendered in high relief occupies the central field, depicted from above with wings spread symmetrically and segmented abdomen prominently modelled. The circular legend REPVBBLICA ITALIANA runs along the upper and lateral periphery, with the engraver's signature ROMAGNOLI inscribed in small characters at the base of the design below the bee's body. The composition is naturalistic in style, characteristic of Italian Republican coinage of the early 1950s. |
