| 裏面の説明 | The denomination numeral 2 appears in each corner within dark circular cartouches set against an elaborate guilloche border in dark green. The central field is filled with a repetitive rosette underprint in reddish-brown, over which the anti-counterfeiting warning text and issuer name are printed in dark green letterpress. The overall design is austere and text-focused, framed by a multi-layered ornamental border. |

The Cassa Veneta dei Prestiti was an Austrian military finance institution established in 1918 to manage currency in the occupied Veneto region during the final year of the First World War. Its notes were denominated in Italian lire — a deliberate policy choice intended to ease acceptance among a population that had used lire for decades and regarded Austrian kronen with suspicion.
The occupation ended with the Austro-Hungarian collapse in November 1918, leaving these notes in circulation for only months. Italian authorities subsequently demonetized them, though the short window meant considerable quantities survived unspent.
