Obverse description Nimbate draped bust of Saint Marinus facing right, rendered in fine relief with a full beard and curly hair, enclosed within a circular halo. The engraver's signature MONASSI appears in the lower right field. The Latin legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO curves along the upper periphery, with the date 1972 inscribed in the exergue below the bust.
