正面描述 Printed in purple and lilac tones, the obverse carries the Honduran national coat of arms as a vignette to the left within an elaborate guilloche underprint, while a portrait of Marco Aurelio Soto occupies the right portion of the note with his name inscribed below. The denomination numeral '2' appears as a large latent-image element at centre, with the bank title 'BANCO CENTRAL DE HONDURAS' running along the top and 'DOS LEMPIRAS' at the bottom. Three signature lines for Presidente, Gerente, and Secretario de Finanzas are positioned in the lower register.

背面描述 The reverse, rendered in purple and lilac intaglio, centres on a scenic vignette of Isla del Tigre and the port city of Amapala, with a volcanic peak rising above calm waters and small vessels in the foreground. A decorative guilloche numeral '2' is positioned to the left, while 'BANCO CENTRAL DE HONDURAS' runs along the top and 'LEMPIRAS' appears at the lower left. An explanatory inscription in the lower field references Amapala as the birthplace of the first bicameral government of Central America.

备注

The P#80A series ran for over a decade with remarkably few design or security changes, which became a practical liability — by the mid-2000s, counterfeiting of the lower denominations was sufficiently common that the BCH accelerated its shift toward polymer substrates for higher-value notes, though the 2 Lempira remained on cotton throughout the series life.

The Lempira denomination itself is named for the 16th-century Lenca chieftain who resisted Spanish conquest and was killed in 1537, reportedly during a parley — a detail that made the denomination politically charged when it was first introduced in 1931 as Honduras broke from the peso system.
