| Aanvullende informatie |
This issue belongs to the final months of the Romanian kingdom. Mihai I was forced to abdicate on December 30, 1947 — under direct pressure from Soviet-backed officials who arrived at the palace demanding his signature — ending over a century of Romanian monarchy. Coins bearing his name were almost immediately withdrawn from circulation and replaced with republican issues, meaning many survivors were never spent at all.
KM#74 is the sole bronze 2 Lei struck under Mihai's post-war reign, distinct from the earlier wartime issues in both alloy and political circumstance.
