| Obverse description | The full coat of arms of the Republic of Latvia occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield with a rising sun in the upper half and three lions passant in the lower quarters, supported by a rampant lion to the left and a griffin to the right. An arc of three five-pointed stars appears above the shield, representing the three historical regions of Latvia. A wreath of oak leaves tied at the base encircles the lower portion of the arms.
