Opmerkingen

The 2 Kwacha belongs to the rebased series introduced when Zambia lopped three zeros off its currency in January 2013 — a direct response to inflation that had made billion-kwacha transactions routine. The redenomination pegged the new kwacha at 1,000 old ones, and G&D printed this series accordingly before the switchover date.

P#49 was a short-lived denomination in practice; the 2 Kwacha was discontinued early within the series, making circulated survivors from the full 2012–2014 window less common than the higher-value notes from the same print run.
