Reverse description The central field features two European pine martens (kuna) in dynamic running poses facing left, a motif directly referencing the Croatian word for the marten after which the currency is named. The numeral 2 is prominently placed in the upper field above the martens. The old Croatian chequered coat of arms appears at the base of the design, and a continuous wreath of wheat ears frames the entire composition along the inner edge.
