Obverse description The obverse is printed in blue on white paper and is dominated by an intricate interlaced guilloche border with repeating scroll and chain motifs. The denomination numeral '2' appears in bold within diamond-shaped cartouches at the left and right, while the central text panel carries the issuing authority inscription in multiple lines. The date 'Zagreb, 1. rujna 1942.' and the mayor's facsimile signature appear at the lower centre and lower right respectively.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in two colours, with a blue interlaced guilloche frame enclosing a brown intaglio-style vignette of a panoramic aerial view of Zagreb's city centre, centred on Ban Jelačić Square with its surrounding architecture and park. The Arms of Zagreb appear in blue at the top centre above the vignette. The denomination '2 kune' is repeated in script at the upper left and upper right corners within the border, and an anti-counterfeiting warning inscription runs along the lower margin within a plain rectangular panel.
