Reverse description A circular wreath of oak or laurel leaves and branches frames three horizontal ribbon banners inscribed with historically significant place names and dates commemorating Norwegian independence: 'HAFRSFJORD · 872', 'EIDSVOLD · 1814', and 'KRISTIANIA · 1905'. The outer legend encircles the wreath, reading 'NORGES · UAVHENGIGHET · GJENNOMFØRT' along the periphery, with the engraver's initials 'I.T.' appearing in the lower field. A five-pointed star appears at the top of the reverse field above the wreath.
