| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of King Christian IV standing facing right, crowned and robed, holding a scepter in his right hand with his left hand resting on the pommel of his sword. The royal figure is enclosed within a beaded or rope inner circle, with his feet breaking through the lower border into the surrounding legend. A large decorative star appears immediately to the left of the king's feet, serving as a distinctive variety marker. The Latin legend, naming the king and his title by the grace of God, runs around the outer periphery. |
