| Additional information |
Solms-Lich was a minor Wetterau county whose coinage rights were perpetually contested within the framework of the Imperial Circle system. Rudolph II's reign saw repeated attempts by the Reichstag to rein in the proliferation of small silver issues from exactly these kinds of petty lordships, whose Kreuzers were accused of undercutting the Reichsmünzordnung standards. MB#18 for this type suggests Niklot Klüßendorf's attribution, placing it within a very thinly documented series.
