| 表面の説明 | Central imperial orb surmounted by a cross, topped by an imperial crown, occupying the field. The orb bears the numeral '2' indicating the denomination. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with a Latin legend running continuously around the outer border. The overall style is consistent with late 16th-century German hammered silver coinage. |

Hanau-Lichtenberg occupied an awkward position in the late sixteenth-century Rhineland — a small Protestant county caught between the ambitions of larger neighbors and the confessional tensions that would eventually ignite the Thirty Years' War. Philip V, who ruled from 1583 until his death in 1595, navigated these pressures while maintaining the county's Reformed ecclesiastical policy. The MB#2 attribution places this among the earliest documented issues of his reign, and the Saur concordance confirms a type known from only a handful of recorded specimens.
