| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field divided into four quarters by an ornate cross, displaying the quartered arms of Württemberg: the upper quarters bear the three antlers of Württemberg and the Reichssturmfahne (imperial war banner), while the lower quarters display the lozengy field of Teck and an additional heraldic device, all enclosed within a beaded or rope inner border. The peripheral legend in Latin reads the ducal title of Ludwig (Louis) the Pious around the circumference of the coin. The die is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered coinage of the period, with moderate relief and characteristic uneven surfaces. |
