| Obverse description | Two ornate heraldic shields displayed side by side in the central field, the dexter shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Salzburg (a lion rampant on a barry field) and the sinister shield bearing the arms of the Liechtenstein family, surmounted by a pontifical cross and an elaborate baroque cartouche with scrollwork flanked by small figure finials. The denomination numeral '2' appears prominently in the lower central field below the shields. The coin is struck with a milled border of fine radial denticles. No peripheral legend is present on this face. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a bold four-line Latin inscription filling the entire field, reading 'SALZB: / LAND / MINZ' followed by the date on the bottom line, rendered in large, widely spaced capital letters in a plain typographic style. A small decorative floral or foliate ornament appears above the first line of text. The coin is encircled by a border of fine radial denticles consistent with milled coinage of the period. The design is austere and functional, with no figurative imagery. |
