| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Palatinate-Veldenz, surmounted by a small ornamental crown or helm crest, set within a plain inner circle. The arms incorporate the Palatine lion and the Veldenz eagle in opposing quarters. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield reading the abbreviated titles of Count George John of Palatinate-Veldenz. The coin was struck by the hammered technique, resulting in a characteristically irregular flan with some weakness at the edges. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Palatinate-Veldenz was one of the smallest and most financially precarious of the Rhine Palatinate's fragmented successor territories. George John I ruled it from 1543 until his death in 1592, perpetually short of funds and largely dependent on the goodwill of larger neighbors. Small silver issues like this one were less about economic ambition than administrative necessity — the territory needed functional small change, and striking it locally was the only way to assert any meaningful fiscal presence. The MB#18 reference places this among a very limited documented series for the duchy.
