| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned Bavarian lozenge arms (fusily in bend azure and argent), the escutcheon surmounted by an Electoral crown. The shield is set within an inner beaded circle, with the abbreviated Latin titular legend of Elector Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria arranged around the periphery in the outer field, reading F. M. V. B & P. S. D. C. P. R. S. R. I. A. & E. L. L. The overall style is characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century south German hammered silver coinage. |
