| Obverse description | Bust of Archduke Ferdinand II facing right, armoured and crowned, depicted in half-length within a beaded inner circle. The effigy shows the ruler in elaborate plate armour with visible decorative detail on the breastplate and collar. The circumferential Latin legend reads FERDINAND D G ARCHID AVS, identifying the issuer by name and title. The portrait is rendered in the robust, somewhat stylised manner characteristic of early seventeenth-century Habsburg provincial coinage. |
