| 正面描述 | The Palatinate lion rampant to left, depicted within an oval cartouche surmounted by a princely crown. The heraldic beast is rendered in the baroque style characteristic of mid-18th century German coinage. The curved legend flanks the cartouche, reading CHVR PFALZ, distributed to either side of the crowned shield. The coin's milled edge border frames the entire composition within the round flan. |

Charles Theodor inherited the Palatinate electorate in 1742 at age sixteen following the extinction of the Sulzbach line, making him one of the youngest ruling Electors in the Rhine Palatinate's history. His early coinage, including this small silver issue, was struck under the oversight of the Mannheim mint during a period when the electorate was still stabilizing its administration after the succession. He would later inherit Bavaria in 1777, uniting two major German territories under a single ruler — a consolidation that Frederick the Great actively worked to dismantle.
