| Obverse description | Central device features the Palatinate rampant lion facing left, crowned, within a beaded inner circle. The heraldic lion is rendered in relief with detailed mane and claws, set against a plain field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading the titles of Elector Karl Ludwig. The overall design is characteristic of mid-17th century German billon coinage, with a slightly irregular flan typical of the period. |

| Reverse description | Central device consists of an oval shield, blank or bearing minimal detail, set within an ornate baroque cartouche adorned with decorative scrollwork and two small points at the center of the shield. The date appears within or adjacent to the legend. A circular Latin legend encircles the entire design, citing the ruler's titles as Elector and Imperial Vicar. The baroque framing reflects the artistic conventions prevalent in German coinage of the mid-17th century. |
