Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Nuremberg arms — a diagonal bend sinister charged with an eagle — within a plain circle. Flanking the shield are the mintmaster's initials 'HK' above and the date '16 80' divided at the sides. A beaded inner border surrounds the central design, with a continuous circular legend in Latin running along the outer rim between beaded borders.

Reverse description A displayed Imperial double-headed eagle with outspread wings fills the field, each head surmounted by a crown and the whole beneath a central imperial crown. The breast of the eagle bears the quartered Habsburg arms on an escutcheon. A continuous circular Latin legend runs along the outer rim between beaded borders, referencing Emperor Leopold I as suzerain authority.
