| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse is printed in warm red and yellow tones with a central oval vignette containing a large ornate numeral '2' with floral embellishment. The word 'UTALVÁNY' (voucher) arches across the upper portion in bold lettering, with the denomination numeral '2' repeated in each corner. A multi-line text inscription in Hungarian script below the central vignette states the redemption obligation, with the issuer name, place, and expiry date rendered in a decorative hand-lettered style. The border is formed by a delicate guilloche-style frame in light blue-green. |

Metro Vízmérőgyár Rt. was one of dozens of Budapest industrial firms that issued their own small-denomination paper notes during the acute coin shortage that gripped Hungary in 1920. The National Bank simply could not keep fractional coinage in circulation — metal had been hoarded, exported, or consumed by wartime production — so factories, cooperatives, and municipalities printed their own scrip to make change for workers and canteen purchases. These emergency issues were technically illegal tender outside the issuing firm's own premises.
