Uralmashinostroy was the massive Soviet construction project that built the Uralmash heavy machinery plant outside Sverdlovsk — one of the flagship industrial sites of the First Five-Year Plan. During construction in the early 1930s, the remote location and chronic shortage of state currency led the project administration to issue its own scrip for use in the workers' settlement. These notes functioned as internal currency redeemable at the site's own stores and canteen, a pragmatic workaround in a cash-starved economy pushing breakneck industrialization.

The plant itself opened in 1933. By then, the scrip had no further purpose.
