Aanvullende informatie

In 1958, the Soviet government prepared a full coinage reform intended to redenominate the ruble at a ratio of 10:1, replacing the Stalin-era designs across all denominations. Trial strikes were produced that year across the entire proposed series, but the reform was postponed — officially implemented only in 1961. The two-year gap between these trials and actual circulation gives 1958-dated production pieces an ambiguous status that still occupies Soviet numismatists.

Fedorin's classification assigns this piece a distinct catalog number from the circulation issue, reflecting genuine die and compositional differences documented in Russian specialist literature. The Ushakov "Р-1" designation confirms first-category rarity within that reference system.
