| Obverse description | The interlaced Cyrillic monogram of Empress Ekaterina II (Е II) surmounted by an Imperial crown occupies the central field, with the date split to either side — '17' to the left and '88' to the right. The entire device is encircled by a wreath composed of laurel and palm branches, tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The design is bold and deeply struck in the neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th-century Russian coinage. |
