| Obverse description | The Russian Imperial double-headed eagle displayed at centre, with wings spread and detailed feathering rendered in bold relief. Each head is surmounted by a small imperial crown, with a larger central crown rising above both heads and joined by a ribbon. The eagle's breast bears a quartered shield depicting the arms of the Russian Empire, and the talons clutch an orb and sceptre. No legend appears on this face; the entire design fills the field to the milled border. |
