| Obverse description | The Imperial Russian double-headed eagle, wings displayed, is depicted in high relief at center, surmounted by a large Imperial crown. The eagle bears on its breast a shield charged with the mounted figure of St. George slaying the dragon. In its talons it holds a sceptre to the left and an orb to the right. The mintmark 'ЕМ' appears in the lower field below the eagle's tail. The entire design is contained within a raised inner ring, surrounded by a decorative multi-reed border with ornamental bosses at the cardinal points. |
