Obverse description Within a rope-bordered circular frame, a large oval heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg — a rampant lion in the lower quarter and a cross with additional charges above — surmounted by the ecclesiastical hat (galero) with elaborate pendant tassels, flanked by decorative mantling. The circumscribed Latin legend runs around the inner rope border. The entire design is struck on a square klippe flan with chamfered corners.
