Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, depicted enthroned and vested in episcopal robes with mitre and nimbus, holding a crozier in his left hand and a salt cellar in his right, the latter being his traditional iconographic attribute. The saint is rendered in a dignified, hieratic style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central figure, with the circumscribing Latin legend SANCTVS RVDBERTVS EPS SALISBVRG running around the periphery. The design is contained within the square klippe format with a rope-twist border mirroring the obverse. The overall execution reflects the refined hammered workmanship associated with the Salzburg Mint under Archbishop Markus Sittikus.
