| 正面描述 | Bare-headed bust of Sun Yat-sen in left profile, rendered in moderate relief with fine portrait detail including a short-collared jacket. A circular Chinese legend surrounds the effigy, reading from upper right to left: 中華民國 (Republic of China) to the right, 總理紀念幣 (Prime Minister's Commemorative Coin) across the top, and 十六年造 (Made in Year 16) to the left, flanked by six-pointed star ornaments. The coin's milled border frames the design with a continuous reeded rim. |

Sun Yat-sen died in March 1925, and the commemorative coinage that followed over the next several years was produced piecemeal by regional authorities rather than any central mint — a direct reflection of how fractured Chinese political authority remained. Fukien Province operated with considerable autonomy during this period, and this pattern was never approved for general circulation.
Kann#712 is recorded in extremely limited quantities, consistent with pattern status. L&M#848 cross-references suggest the dies were locally produced in Foochow.
