An outer ring of Chinese ideograms forms the peripheral legend, reading the reign title and mint authority. The inscription identifies the Great Qing Bei Yang Arsenal Mint and records Year 22 of the Guangxu reign. The denomination '二角' (2 Jiao) appears within the central device. The overall design is executed in a formal, rectilinear style characteristic of late Qing provincial mint issues. |
