| Aanvullende informatie |
Volodymyr Serhieiev (1907–1975) was a Soviet-Ukrainian film director best known for his work at the Kyiv Film Studio, and this coin belongs to Ukraine's long-running commemorative bimetallic and base-metal series honoring figures in national arts and culture. The series accelerated considerably after 2010 as the National Bank issued increasing numbers of collector pieces — sometimes dozens per year — a pace that attracted criticism from dealers regarding long-term secondary market depth.
The 2014 date carries its own weight: production and release coincided with the Euromaidan revolution and the subsequent annexation of Crimea, a period when the hryvnia lost nearly half its value against the dollar within months.
